Everything you need to know to get started and win
We're super excited to kick off our DevCasa challenge and can't wait to see what you build with our CloudFS APIs. To help you get started with CloudFS and on your way to winning big, we've put together a short list of references and instructions:
- First things first, create a Bitcasa CloudFS account.
- Don't have an idea of what to build? Check out our App Showcase to see what others have built with CloudFS.
- Need more in-depth examples? We also have Sample Apps and Tutorials in iOS, Android and Python.
- Get familiar with CloudFS and by reading our API Documentation.
- Lastly, our CloudFS User Guide is a great source for example API calls and descriptions.
Once you've created a CloudFS account and you're ready to start building with CloudFS, you'll need to create a Test End User and generate an Access Token. You can find great examples within our REST documentation and SDKs, but we'll help you a little more. Just follow these steps below:
Create a Test End User from the Admin Console - Plan type: Prototype only
- Log into your Admin Console at: access.bitcasa.com.
- On the sidebar nav, go to Application.
- Under the Add Test Users section, select New test account.
- Fill out the New Test Account form and click Sign Up. Take note of the Username and Password you use. Unfortunately, we can't reset a test end users account if you lose of forget their login credentials.
- Success! You just created your first test end user. The test end user should be listed under the Add Test Users section.
Generate an Access Token from the Admin Console - Plan type: Prototype only
- To generate an Access Token, select the Generate Token button to the left of the test end username.
- Input the test end users password and click Generate.
- Once the token is granted, the Access Token will appear directly under the test end username.
- Select the Access Token field, select all and copy the information. We recommend keeping this information with the test end users credentials.
And voĆla! Now you're all set to start building with CloudFS and run simple API calls like ping, upload, and download.
If you'd rather use the API to create a Test End User and generate an Access Token, simply follow the steps provided within the CloudFS User Guide.
Lastly, if you have any questions or issues, we're more than happy to help. Feel free to post a question within the Discussions section and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
